Laser Treatment
Laser treatment uses focused laser energy instead of conventional cutting for certain anorectal procedures. It is one option among several, not a universal solution: whether it suits you depends on your condition, its severity and your general health, and that is decided after examination.
Overview
In laser-assisted procedures, energy delivered through a fine fibre is used to treat the target tissue in a controlled way. Depending on the condition, this may mean shrinking haemorrhoidal tissue or closing a tract.
Patients often arrive having read that laser treatment is painless and needs no recovery. That is an overstatement. Recovery is still required, instructions still need to be followed, and outcomes still depend on the condition being suitable for the approach.
